Howie Combrink releases his debut music video for “Don’t Be Sayin Goodbye” on Friday the 13th of June.
“Don’t Be Sayin Goodbye“, released as a single to radio towards the end of Feb, has topped the charts on Ofm reaching #1 on the SA TOP 5 and peaking at #2 on OFM Top 10, along with receiving incredible radio support from the likes of KFm, RSG, MFm (climbing the TOP 40 chart), Smile Fm, Zone Radio and many more!
Combrink shot the music video with director Kyle White from KyleWhiteTV on the 18th May at Saronde Valley (Krugersdorp).
“I loved working on this project with Howie; because he is such a talented musician and performer it made my job that much easier. It is lovely to work with an artist who’s emotion is so genuine and true to his or her song. Aside from his musicality and showmanship, he is a wonderful person to work alongside. Its clients like this that you wish to go ‘the extra mile’ for.”, comments director, Kyle White.
Combrink used to be the drummer for great local bands such as New Academics, Mel-Funktion, Gang of Instrumentals, Chili and Lime, Soil 7t7 and One Day Remains. Early in 2012, Combrink joined multi-platinum selling band, Watershed, as their new drummer and two years later he still plays in the band, as well as performing as part of Craig Hinds’ solo line-up.
This is Howie’s first music video as a solo artist.
Combrink comments, “Working with Kyle White was an amazing experience. The concept of the video was very simple and he made it look so good. Kyle has managed to capture the emotion of the song with no special effects but only great visuals. I’m very excited to release this debut video as I feel it is exactly what I am as an artist and it has captured the essence of nature which is exactly where my inspiration comes from”
“Don’t Be Sayin Goodbye” music video will receive its first play on Expresso on SABC 3 on Friday 13 June and will include an interview and live performance from Combrink on the Breakfast TV show.
